CREATE YOURSELF
by Bee’s Nest Quilt & Sew
A sewing program for ALL youth ages 10-17. Four week programs (1x a week for 2hrs) designed to empower young minds, evoke curiosity and encourage artistic expression. Classes are planned using a S.T.E.A.M. method of learning incorporating science, technology, engineering, art and math into each level of sewing class.
Create Yourself focuses on learning sewing skills through the process of up-cycling previously loved textiles into new to you fashion and accessories.
Sustainable sewing methods like up-cycling help keep sewing affordable. It teaches a mindful approach to the craft and its relationship with the planet. Create Yourself students are encouraged to shop their closets for existing items or local thrift stores for used textiles that can be repurposed and fashioned into something new.
A new approach and experience for students learning how to sew. Sewing offers something for all students with different abilities and interests.
